Preparing for the DAT - The Calm Before the Storm

Long time, no blog. I actually just crunched the numbers - between the months of December and January I've written a grand total of 0 blogs. It's actually incredibly impressive. I almost wanted to keep the streak going, but I figured I had to write a blog about my DAT prep.

Originally, my plan for the DAT was to study almost ten hours a day following Stephanie's schedule (awesome blog by the way, I definitely recommend anyone studying for the DAT to checking it out). The plan was to take the DAT on January 18th, a day before the start of the spring semester. As you can see by the timestamp on this blog, that plan obviously fell though.

Now for the unveiling of Master Plan Numero Dos (MPND for short). Fortunately, I was able to knock out all of my preliminary studying (i.e. taking notes) for both the Natural Sciences and Qualitative Reasoning sections. So step one of MPND is to really begin hammering at (i.e. studying) these notes over the next couple of weeks. My goal is to start killing the DAT Destroyer by the second week of February. Step three will be to start taking practice tests by the third week of February (via KBB, Crack the DAT, DAT Bootcamp). To keep myself on track I'll be posting my scores for these practice tests below:

PAT:
Crack the DAT: 15/20
DAT Bootcamp: 16/19 (with some lady singing in the background)/18/19/20/21/20/20
2007 DAT: 21

Biology:
DAT Bootcamp: 19/15/17/17
2007 DAT: 20

Gen Chem:
DAT Bootcamp: 17/18/21
2007 DAT: 19

Ochem:
DAT Bootcamp: 14/18/19
2007 DAT: 25

QR:
DAT Bootcamp: 15/17/16/17/20
2007 DAT: 20

Reading Comp:
DAT Bootcamp: 16/18/19
2007 DAT: 19

That's pretty much all I've got. I'm still volunteering at the dental clinic downtown and working in the Drosophila lab at school AND managing the UCD hockey team, but those are all taking a backseat to studying for these next few weeks. I'll be sure to update this blog as my studying goes along.

P.S. Live look in at the DAT as it reads this blog:
