Summer to Fall

Uff da. That's about the only word that accurately describes how summer classes went. All's well that ends well I guess, and I'd say it ended well because now I get to take a nice two-week break before fall semester. Now that I'm rolling in free time I figured that I'd breakout the old apple and write a blog.

I'm planning on knocking out a few things during break, mainly studying for the DAT and getting the ball rolling with the hockey team. I took one of my practice DAT tests today to figure out what I need to brush up on -mainly maths and Ochem. My angle-ranking scores were off the charts though. If dentistry doesn't pan out I could always fallback on judging dyslexic deities (really proud of that joke). Anyways, I was thinking about posting a study schedule just to try and plan my days out a little better. It might happen, it might not.

As far as the hockey team is concerned, I've managed to schedule a few games with Fort Lewis and Mines. The main issue right now is just our lack in numbers. I'm trying to convince Brett, our athletic director, to let me set up a table at the dorms during move-in day. No luck so far, but I saw him at the gym today and we made eye-contcat, so I'm sure that decisions about to be overturned pretty soon here. Some say I'm the Houdini of negotiation.

Oh one last thing, I've got an update on that impression I mentioned a few blogs back. Last Friday I was able to watch one of the residents form some secondary impressions on a denture patient. Turns out that the first picutre I posted was actually the initial impressions of that same patient! Holy toledo! No, but these impressions were the ones that are used to make trays that are specific to the patients mouth. The impression trays allow for a more accurate secondary impression to be made, which is then sent off to the lab to make a wax mould. The resident I was following actually showed me the mould (from a different patient), but I forgot to snap a photo of them. I need to start rocking the old tourist look and have my camera attached around my neck at all times. Anyways, I did manage to get a picture of the secondary impression, which are cool in their own right.

Secondary Impressions - "They're cool in their own right". Should have been my senior quote.
I guess I'll be getting back to my sweet two-week-break lifestyle. I'll try not to live it up too much. Hasta la vista.
